At Gold Trail Distributed Learning we offer both
online courses (asynchronous) and
online virtual classes
(synchronous).Working collaboratively with
LearnNowBCand the
BC Learning
Network, we offer an increasing number of online courses using
interactive communication tools that allow for increased
student-student and student-teacher communications and
collaboration, via the Internet.
Grades 8-9
Students in Grades
8-9 must take a full program of studies from GTDL
and cannot be cross-enrolled in more than one school.
The courses are not set up
for continuous year round entry. Instead, there are two times
during the school year where Grade
8-9 students can enroll: September for Term One and
January for Term 2. All Grade
8-9 courses MUST be completed before June 15 of the
school year. A final mark will be generated before June 30.
The typical Grade
8-9 student will complete a
program that includes Math, English, Science, Social Studies and
Physical Education. Additional subjects may include fine
arts, applied skills or languages. Parents and students meet with
their teacher to plan the program based on the student's skills and
abilities and the provincial standards set out for their grade.
Program's learning outcomes are determined by provincial regulations
of accreditation as determined by the Ministry of Education.
